August Silhouette Results
What heat advisory? Later in the day was only 100 and index over that. I do confess to my ‘northern’ friends who complain of the summer temperature here that it’s just like their nine months of winter: you just stay inside (here, after noon or so).
Greatly appreciate the help setting up, Friday afternoon (see above) was not the time to set up. Just shot 40 to get out as early as practical.
Notable: Steve Arceneaux drove from Brownwood to compete with us.

July 2019 Silhouette at HCRPC
Bright light to partly cloudy skies and COOL, for July temperatures made for a great day for shooting at the metal animals. Lots of help in setup and tear down was appreciated. Close competitions, forced us to lots of tie breakers, even to second animals tie breakers.

HCRPC Half Scale Silhouette June 2019 Match
First time I DON’T set out both sets of animals and a whole bunch of shooters show up. Great crowd, 18 for Smallbore, 13 for Centerfire. New shooters from Lake Kiowa and Denison, existing shooters from Carrolton, Alvord, and Waco; enough Unclassified shooters to make their own class.
State Lever Action Silhouette Rifle match next weekend, maybe there was ‘practicing’ going on today.

May 2019Silhouette Report
Rain, rain, go away. Heard even the farmers are tired of it.
Range was all set up, thank you Mark Sternglanz for the help, overhead kept it off us, save a little water running through the firing line, but where were the shooters?
Rain quit in time to put it all away.
Everyone that shot won, something.

April 2019 Silhouette Report
‘a whole lot of the city shut down’ was a quote I heard last Saturday. Weatherpersons were right for once, got 2.5”.Sure glad setup was Friday, and sure appreciated the help from Mark Sternglanz.
Rain, yes. Yes it did, but shooters stayed dry (save for the soles of our boots) under the overhead. Pull the reset ropes, shoot again. No Problem.

March 2019 Silhouette Report
Skeered of the forecasted rain, got the range setup Friday night. The line of thunderstorms had passed by match time, leaving bluebird skies, but many shooters reported waiting out or driving through rain, hail etc. to get here. Only had to endure a little (remember this is Texas) wind for the centerfire matches and wade the reappearance of the swamp/mud to paint and clean up.
One fun match shooter, one new shooter and one club member that got drafted to spot hits (and misses); interested enough to say he’d bring his own gun next month to try these half scale targets.

February 2019 Silhouette Report
Must have scared most of the shooters off with the mid-week weather report (29-44 degrees).
Heck, only 37 when we started, 37 with drizzle when we finished!
Eight hardy souls braved it all and it even took decent scores to win.

January 2019 Silhouette Report
Welcome the New Year!! First match of the year, old guard, new shooters, even one watcher. All came out in the cold, wind and mud. Lots of wet and mud. Thanks to the diesel buggy we got all the targets placed, and to the resettable targets, we didn’t have to go downrange very often.
